I was in a school hallway in a classroom at the end of the hall. A resources teacher came to the door and asked for me because I needed to join a group for kids with OCD. I don’t have OCD. When I went to the room, there was a white bleacher at the end of the room and the room looked like a child’s playroom with toys. The bell rang for the end of the day and I walked to the door. When I got to the door, all the lights turned off and on the door, there appeared orange stretchy cables that filled up the door and I knew I couldn’t stretch through them.I remembered that there were scissors in the room next to me. I cut the orange cables and I was free until I fell to my knees out of weakness and couldn’t get up. I then felt a hand on my shoulder and a girl said “tag, you’re it” and then I started glowing orange and couldn’t leave. I lost all hope. Then a girl said “hey” and I looked around to her. She reached out her hand and I touched it and said “tag you’re it” and then she ran off to go tag someone else. I finally army crawled outside to the sidewalk, stood up, walked to my grandma’s car, and saw the time was 15 minutes after I get out of school which is 3:05. It was really dark outside despite that. Once I got in the car, my sister was talking to my grandma about something I don’t remember. I decided to act as if everything was fine.
Dreams like the one you described are often rich with symbolism and can reflect various aspects of your subconscious mind. Let's delve into the elements of your dream and interpret what they might signify:
School Hallway and Classroom: Schools in dreams often represent learning environments or situations where you are being tested. This could symbolize a challenge or a period of personal growth in your waking life where you are evaluating aspects of your behavior or decisions.
Resource Teacher and OCD Group: Being mistakenly asked to join a group for kids with OCD, despite not having OCD, might symbolize feelings of being misunderstood or misjudged by others. It could also reflect a situation in which you feel out of place or classified incorrectly, potentially highlighting an area of your life where you feel pressure to conform to others' expectations.
Child’s Playroom and Toys: This setting might indicate a desire to return to a more carefree, youthful state, or it could suggest existing situations in your life that seem chaotic or out of control. The playroom might also signify the importance of creativity and spontaneity.
Orange Stretchy Cables in the Dark: The lights turning off can symbolize feeling uncertain or trapped in a situation. The orange cables blocking your way out may represent obstacles or barriers you perceive in waking life. Orange is often associated with emotional energy and creativity, and cutting through these cables suggests finding solutions or breakthroughs to move past these obstacles.
Scissors and Being Free: Locating the scissors to cut through the obstacles symbolizes empowerment and resourcefulness. It suggests that you have the tools to resolve your issues, even if it takes effort to find and utilize them.
Feeling Weak and the Game of Tag: Falling to your knees could reflect exhaustion or feeling overwhelmed by current life challenges. The game of “tag” and glowing orange may symbolize being 'marked' or overburdened by certain responsibilities or expectations. However, the act of tagging someone else and passing on the glow suggests a cycle of energy exchange and the importance of interaction and connection with others for relief.
Crawling to the Outside and Dark Conditions: Plot-wise, you eventually make it outside despite difficulty, suggesting resilience. The dark conditions despite being daytime signify confusion or worry, pointing to internal struggles or concerns about the future.
Grandmother’s Car and Conversation: The car ride with your grandmother and sister might represent familial support and familiarity. Even though you remain quiet about your struggle (acting as if everything is fine), you might feel a need for support or comfort from loved ones.
In conclusion, this dream seems to touch upon themes of feeling misunderstood, facing obstacles, searching for relief or support, and ultimately finding resilience and ways to cope with the unexpected challenges in your life. It's important to consider how these symbols resonate with your waking life experiences and emotions.
